More about me…

familyjump2014

Thanks for checking out my blog! Here’s a little more about me:

I’m Candy. I’ve been a wife since 2001 and a mother since 2006 (she got a sister in 2010). Prior to all of that I was a kid who moved around a lot, finally settling in a small town in Arkansas at the beginning of junior high. I stayed in Arkansas for college at University of the Ozarks where I majored in Theatre and met my husband (but not in that order, actually).

We live in the suburban NW Houston area now and have been here since 2010. We had many addresses before this one, so we are pretty proud to have been here for this long.

Some of the more dramatic points of my life involve ovarian cancer at 15 and surgery while pregnant with my first child.

I’ve been blogging since 2011. I like telling stories and finding the funny and/or the sweet aspects of life. Many of my posts are related to parenting or children, but sometimes I post about being a GenXer in the modern world.

I do not accept guest posts and I’m not really that PR friendly. Not that I’m mean, but if you send me an email requesting that I write about a product or a brand for free there is a solid chance I will delete it. I am interested in featuring sponsored/paid content for brands that I honestly use or that my audience might use. Shoot me an email if you’d like my media kit or rate sheet.

In May 2014 I was part of the Southeast Texas cast of Listen to Your Mother. I shared a personal story about how I became a mother. You can watch it here:

  1. Hey Candy,

Sorry for the random email. My name’s Sarah and I’m a freelance writer (well, trying to be!). Right now, I’m a regular contributor over at a site called Sleep Advisor.

I’m writing to you because I’m new to the world of blogging and I was wondering if I could contribute an article on your site? The exposure on Slightly Over Caffeinated would be amazing for my writing journey.

I love writing articles that are sleep related and know I could come up with a few post ideas your readers would love.

Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll send over some of my ideas 🙂

What do you say? Either way, thanks for reading my email.

    – Sarah

  2. I have noticed you don’t monetize your website, don’t waste your traffic, you can earn extra cash
every month because you’ve got hi quality content.
