I am so ready for school to be out that I’m on the verge of just keeping my third grader home against her will (she loves school). I’m so done with the routine. AND? I’m ready for the BEACH.
We are 6 weeks away from our annual beach trip and I’m already planning what to pack. I am going to live in shorts and soft tees and flip flops, when I’m not in my swim suit, of course. I’ll consume tasty beverages while my kiddos dig holes in the sand with their friends… Ahhh… I can smell the salt in the air now…
I was feeling antsy about my shorts situation when I emptied out my drawer as I realized I had nothing quite as soft and stretchy as I had in mind. I thought I was out of luck unless I wanted to wear pajamas in public. I really try not to do that.
Lucky me: I found my shorts. They are from J.Jill (you know how I love J.Jill) and perfect for the beach. The JJill striped linen drawstring shorts are soft and light and the pin striping is so delicate they read as a neutral light blue.
Keeping it beachy, I added the JJill sun bleached slub tank in a pale green, which is also soft and light. Even at the beach I need a good topper — they always seem to crank the AC up at restaurants and stores — so I topped it with the white JJill two pocket linen shirt. Linen is the perfect weight for a summer topper, so I’m sure I’ll be wearing that one for years to come.
I was (a little too) excited to see that J.Jill had a straw fedora as I will live in hats this summer. My pixie is growing out and I often have awkward hair days right now. This one seems very packable so I’m not worried about destroying it if it gets shoved in my beach bag.
You can’t really see them in the picture above, but I’m wearing these bracelets from J.Jill, too:
The JJill Compassion Fund heart bracelet as well as the Compassion Fund star bracelet are made in the USA and 50% of the net proceeds benefit the J.Jill Compassion Fund. (They make great teacher gifts, by the way.)
Sigh. I wish we were leaving for the beach tomorrow. My packing plans will have to appease me for now.
Do you have a go-to item you wear in the summer? Or do you have big travel plans? Do tell. 🙂
BIG thanks to J.Jill for the clothes featured in this post. And thank YOU for supporting my blog and the brands that make my blog possible.
