This post is brought to you by J.Jill & The Motherhood and written in exchange for clothing and compensation. All opinions are mine, mine, mine — though I love to share them with you so you can get dressed on purpose.
Fall means different things in different places. I live in Houston, so fall hasn’t exactly arrived yet. But I cannot WAIT for cooler weather because fall fashion is my favorite. I love boots and scarves and layers… Oh my.
Even if it’s still 90 degrees where I live, that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about fall fashion, right? I mean it IS October. Let’s start out easy and uncomplicated and talk about J.Jill’s Pure Jill line. Pure Jill is inspired by nature, meant to be timeless and understated; think “Zen and the Art of Clothing.” The designer of the line, Barb Patin, says, “Pure Jill is perfectly imperfect elegance. Comfortable, comforting, and confident.” After shopping the line at my local J.Jill, I agree with Barb.
To shop for this post, I could have ordered online, but I really prefer shopping in person. First of all, the layout of the store echoes the brand’s mission and “uncomplicates” the shopping experience. I never had to hunt and peck – the layout is clean and simple. And secondly, the ladies working there are always so helpful; they help me find the best combination for my body and my life.
I really made them work on my visit – it was so hard to choose my favorite combo! I was choosing between an outfit featuring the Pure Jill Cascading Hoodie and the Pure Jill Crinkle Dress. In the end, I picked the dress. You know I love dresses, and I was excited about the different ways I can style this one. My lovely assistant helped me snap a few pics so I could show you:
The dress is basically a shift, making it a great fit for many bodies and right on trend with the 60s “Mod” look that’s so in right now. I kept the jewelry simple to match the dress. I paired it with some of my favorite Dansko clogs, keeping with the comfort theme. Opaque tights would also be great with this look if your climate allows it.
Need more of a daytime fall look? Here you go:
The texture on this dress is so unique and a great detail that makes this dress special. You can kind of see the texture in this pic, but what you can’t see is how soft it is.
This dress has pockets, which makes me happy. I love pockets in a dress. This look is great for day of running errands or a night with the girls.
The things that work for me about the Pure Jill Crinkle Dress and the leggings I paired it with are how soft and comfortable they are and how easy it is to dress this combo up or down. This look would also be great for travel because it’s so adaptable.
Do you love this dress like I do? Great news: You can get 30% off any full-priced item from the pure jill collection through November 30, 2014, with the code MOPJ30.
Have you shopped the Pure Jill line? What is your favorite item? What’s on your list to buy next?
Thanks to J.Jill and The Motherhood for making this post possible.
