Disclosure: J.Jill provided me with the outfit and the gift card to giveaway. I wasn’t required to post about it, but had so much to say I decided it was the best way to do the giveaway. All opinions and photos are my own.
Way back in 2007 I had only one child and we had just moved to a new city and state. I was going through that time after you have your first kid and try to wear real clothes again and find that your entire body is different. I ventured off to the Pleasanton Mall in search of anything that fit and I was terribly disappointed. It seemed all of the clothes were meant for women who didn’t have suddenly wider hips and a little extra flesh. I’m not even talking about sizes – I was the same clothing size as I was pre-baby – the problem was how the clothes were cut. I was honestly offended at the low rise jeans and fitted tees I was finding. They were not meant for mamas. At least not this thirty-something mama.
As I was sulking through the mall, I noticed J.Jill and decided to give it a try. I was thrilled to discover the clothes were cut in a way that gave a modest but flattering fit and the styles were not at all matronly. I scooped up several cute shirts and made a note to go back. And thus began my love for J.Jill.
Fast forward to present day when I received an invitation to the Grand Opening of the new J.Jill in the Galleria – yay! I got a nice tour of the store, an outfit of my very own, and something for one of you… but more on that later.
J.Jill has redesigned their stores with simplicity in mind since they know we ladies are a busy bunch. They’ve opened up the floor plan and have a section for each clothing line within their own collection to make it easier for us to put a look together.
The first thing that makes it such a pleasure to shop at J.Jill is the fabrics are quality and lines are flattering, but the second thing is the accessories. You can shop your complete look and never leave the store. Here’s the ensemble I selected:
You can see how the scarf really brings the look together, but adding the necklace really elevates the entire ensemble.
Just by rearranging the pieces and changing shoes you can make this look more dramatic (as indicated by the dramatic look on my face):
Oh, you know what else? Every month J.Jill puts out different collections. So maybe this red shirt isn’t your thing? Go in right now to shop a different collection, which includes the blues and purples that are trending for fall.
I mentioned how J.Jill keeps women in mind – this doesn’t just include those who shop in the store. For this event J.Jill made a donation through their J.Jill Compassion fund to The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston, a non-profit organization that promotes financial literacy and provides classes and lessons on budgeting for women who are getting back on their feet.
So now you love J.Jill as much as I do, right? Cool! I have a gift card for you so you can do a little back to school shopping of your own. Or ONE of you can anyway.
Enter below to win a $100 gift card to put together your own look from J.Jill. You can shop in the store or online (though the store is more fun).
How do you enter? First visit J.Jill’s website and then comment below with which item(s) you’d want to get with your $100. Then log into Rafflecopter (this does not put you on any mailing list, only verifies your entry) and click that you’ve commented. Easy Peasy.
