From Summer to Fall {Dresses Over Pants!}

Sometimes the hardest part of clothes shopping for me is actually making the purchase. I am practical to a fault. I have to know I am going to wear this garment more than once and for more than one season before I plop down my money for it. This is true for me whether the item is $19.99 or $79.99.

What I don’t want is for this issue to stop me — or you — from shopping at all. So in order to make myself feel better, I wanted to give you some ways you can wear a couple of this summer’s trends in the fall as well. I am going to focus on one of my favorite personal looks that will be trending this fall: dresses with pants!

I’ve featured this look before and wear it quite often, so when I saw it among the Fall 2014 looks I was giddy.

LWD

A fun trend this summer is the Little White Dress. You will see this featured in fashion mags right now, but also featured at your friendly neighborhood Target. In the summer you can wear this fun, feminine frock with sandals or flip-flops for an easy summer look. This fall? Pair it with skinny jeans in a seasonal hue and top it with a long cardigan in a neutral color. Tall boots always work in the fall to complete the look.

FLORALS

A flowery sundress is always fun in the summer. The good news is florals will still be trending this fall. In order to get the most bang for your buck, choose a dress with rich jewel tones such as reds and purples. Very cute and easy to dress up or down in the summer and in the fall pair it with your favorite well worn skinny jeans for a casual look, or an ankle length cigarette pant and heels to dress it up.

TRIBALS

Looking for fun accessories? Bags in a tribal print are on trend now and will still be in the fall. Look for layered, beaded jewelry, or gold tones with pendants in shapes that play off of the tribal prints.
