Weathered & Heathered {What I Wore Wednesday}

I am so over this winter weather. I am especially over it because it threw quite the wrench in my plans this weekend.

I went to Arkansas to give my sister a baby shower, which is something I have no experience doing, by the way. I knew the weather wasn’t going to be great, but the degree to which it sucked was something none of us anticipated. But that is a story for another day. We did have the shower and I did make Pinterest cupcakes, so that’s what’s really important, right?

so the cupcakes are not pristine. sue me.

So since my Monday night flight was cancelled because of Sleetmageddon, I just got back home less than 24 hours ago and I am beat. But life goes on.

This morning I was not in the mood for all my normal mom-duties, but I got my kids to school and made a trip to the grocery store anyway. It’s a bit rainy and cold today; I’m linking up with The Pleated Poppy so I can show you how I rocked it:

that’s my suitcase from this weekend. I’m working on it.
My rain boots were helpful but I really just wanted to be comfortable. The Calvin Klein ponte pants I got from Costco always come in handy on days like this, as does this dress from Target since it covers my bum. (Yes, I said dress. It was marketed as a dress. As if.)
My airport pashmina keeps me cozy and adds a bit of color while my (very old) cardigan gives me a more streamlined look. (I love optical illusions.) I topped it off with a shabby hat I restyled to suit my own personal style. It’s super helpful on days I don’t wash my hair or when I am due for a cut and color (I have an appointment tomorrow).
So. What are you wearing today?
