Winter is hard on me. The cold and the clouds are not my friend, but the lack of humidity does a number on my skin and hair. I have long extolled the virtues of coconut oil as a moisturizer — I discovered it’s wonders when I was cloth diapering my second child — so when I had the opportunity to review this line of hydrating products from Perfectly Pure, I was excited. In a nerdy way, obviously.
I’m a natural girl. The only beauty products I buy are the brands that are paraben free, use natural ingredients, don’t test on animals, etc., and these products are no exception. So here’s my assessment:
For me, it only took a small amount of this rich shampoo to get an adequate lather. It rinsed squeaky clean and the scent was very subtle.
I have highlights so I always need moisturizing products. A good conditioner is a valuable asset to my aging hair and the abuse I give it. This conditioner is very rich and left my hair feeling noticeably more smooth and silky after I rinsed it out.
Again it only took a small amount to lather up (this isn’t always the case with natural products) and the scent was lovely and subtle. I suspect this bottle will last me quite a while.
The lotion is also rich and with a subtle coconut scent. Hours later my legs felt like I had just applied the lotion, even though it had absorbed quickly.
I use this for my “problem” areas. Right now that means elbows and hands, and right under my nose because I’ve been sick and have used all the tissues in Houston… I also dabbed a little in my eye area at night, but you have to have a delicate touch when using any oil around your eyes. Oils are part of my normal regimen so I am a pro. After I dried my hair today I rubbed some into my hands and then ran my fingertips very lightly through my hair to smooth the fly-aways. It seemed to do the trick.
I’m a fan of all the products I tried. I really can’t compare them to non-natural products since I haven’t used them in years. Perfectly Pure also has a line of Argan Oil products and a Retinol cream – I think I’ll have to try those, too.
Which products would you like to try? Do you want to try the Perfectly Pure Complete Coconut Set like I did? Lucky you – one of my readers will win the entire set! (A new one of course. I’m keeping mine!)
