Blogging about Blogging.

I’ve been blogging regularly for a little over a year now. I was really not sure about the whole thing when I started — it seemed a little odd to just write and publish things randomly on my own little piece of the internet. Fast forward from May 2011 to now, and? I’m constantly thinking about topics to blog about.

In the process of pushing my own envelope and stepping outside my comfort zone and taking a chance with this internet fad, I discovered something I had forgotten: I really, REALLY like to write.

There are many debates over whether blogging counts as really “writing” (mostly by other bloggers AND in my head), so despite my need to write daily I hesitate to change my title from “blogger” to “writer”. BUT… I also hesitate to give myself the title of “blogger”…

Nevertheless I would like to be a better blogger and there exists a great community of bloggers from whom I can learn. It just so happens a lot of them are in the same place at the same time once a year, at the BlogHer conference. Well, next year I think I might try to go.

I don’t make any money from this blog, so to take on such a large expense “just because” may not make any sense to the non-blogger. Hell, I’m not sure it even makes sense to me. But whatever the case, BlogHer ’13 is on my radar and this blog post is part of my entry into a sweepstakes to possibly win a ticket to the conference.

Wish me luck!
