Yesterday I wore a big floppy hat.
I received a lot of comments on it, because it’s not the type of thing people wear every day. However, I like it and we were outside for an extended period of time so I needed a lot of protection from the sun – with super short hair, even sun screen can’t really do the job by itself.
With all the commenting about my hat, I was reminded of a younger version of myself who wore things that were a little different than the norm and who was totally cool with the comments and looks and attention due to my unique choices.
It reminded me of who I am – the “who” that is always there and will always be there deep in my core.
And I was happy with my choice to wear my big floppy hat.
And happy I was not the only one who enjoyed it.
