Thankful. (Joining the bandwagon…)

Some bandwagons are meant to be joined.

On Facebook (yes, I’m still on FB – despite my rant) and on blogs that I follow, I see folks getting into the spirit of Thanksgiving by listing things they are thankful for. Some list a new thing every day. Some bloggers are taking part in NaBloPoMo and using that as an opportunity to talk about things they are thankful for.

I love when people use their power for good!

Another way I’ve seen people using their powers for good today is the Million Moms Challenge. This is a campaign to help moms and babies around the world – did you realize women still routinely die during childbirth in parts of the world?

Which brings me to what I am most thankful for today: my two beautiful, healthy daughters. My first pregnancy was not without complications, but we are both still here. My second pregnancy was completely normal and wonderful. I am so BLESSED and THANKFUL!

As I type, my toddler is dancing and clapping in the living room. I just had a conference with my kindergartener’s teacher, during which she told me how well behaved and bright she is. I am so thankful for my blessings, but I don’t know why I am so blessed when so many others aren’t.
Which is why I want to use my power for good, too. I’m still working on that.
